Let This Cup Pass From Me

by Jack Hyles

a poem written by Dr. Jack Hyles

I’m fainting in the garden shedding tears of agony.
Crying out in deepest anguish for no hope I now can see.
The Father seems not to answer; It seems it is His plan;
For me to bear for others what was bciTn by God for man.
May I show my true submission; my love, Dear Lord, for thee
As I cry out in deepest anguish this my humble plea:
Father, if it be possible please let this cup pass from me
Nevertheless, not as I will but as that thou wouldst have it be.
.
For He fainted, in the garden shedding tears of agony.
He cried out in deepest anguish for no hope he then could see.
The Father, He did not answer; I seemed it was His plan
For Jesus to pay the penalty the price of sin for man
He showed His true submission His love for you and me
As He cried out in deepest anguish; This His humble plea:
Father, if it be possible please let this cup pass from me
Nevertheless, not as I will but as that thou wouldst have it be.
